Concept Map
This module, you will learn to utilize graphic organizer software, such as Inspiration and Kidspiration, in your future profession. Inspiration is a software that allows either students or the teacher to create visual organizing charts called concept maps. There is also a program for use in early elementary and early childhood called Kidspiration. There are many graphic organizer software availble for you to use. However, we will focus on Inspiration and Kidspiration because they are easy to use (for both students and teachers) and offer a wide variety of graphics that help to make the concept maps attractive and connected to the topic being addressed.

Module Activities
Activity #1: Thematic Unit Concept Map (Teacher Education) / My Dream Organization Concept Map (Sport Administration)
Purpose: To collaborate among team members to creatively develop a concept map that visually and conceptually best represents your team's thematic unit [Teaching from...] (for Teacher Education) or your selected organization / club (for Sport Administration) .
Process:
For Teacher Education
Collaboratively, you and your team members are required to creatively draw a concept map of your team thematic unit. This is a continuous project that you and your team members will collaboratively work on the design of your team thematic unit's concept map.
Important: A complete concept map must include:
- Title of your thematic unit
- Graphics or images representing each element in the concept map
- Linking lines connect related terms
- A concept map exported as a graphic file and titled as "CMLP_Name of your thematic unit."
For Sport Administration
Collaboratively, you and your team members are required to creatively draw a concept map of your organization. This is a continuous project that you and your team members will collaboratively work on the design of your organization's concept map.
Important: A complete concept map must include:
- Title of your thematic unit
- Graphics or images representing each element in the concept map
- Linking lines connect related terms
- A concept map exported as a graphic file and titled as "CMLP_Name of your organization."
Activity #2: Individual Lesson Plan Concept Map
Purpose: To creatively design a concept map that visually and conceptually best represents the topic of your lesson plan.
Process: Individually, along with your individual lesson plan, you are required to use any graphic organizer software to create a concept map that visually and conceptually explains your lesson plan topic.
Important: A complete concept map must include:
- Title of your lesson plan topic
- Graphics or images representing each element in the concept map
- Linking lines connect related terms
- A concept map saved and titled as "CMLP_Your Name."
Submission
When finished, save and title your complete file as described above. Upload the complete files to the appropriate dropbox (as indicated by your instructor).
- For Activity #1, it is a collaborative project. One submission is required for each team.
- For Activity #2, it is an individual project. One submission is required for each student.
