Understand files and folders

Before we begin creating and saving files for the course assignments, you need to understand how to organize your files and folders. Download and review the information provided in this link
http://cti.itc.virginia.edu/~ttspeng/OrganizingComputerFiles.pdf .

In order for you to create a backup of your work, you should  purchase (if you have not done it yet) a USB drive. Create a new folder that
      will be named
EDTF200 or
EDTF3 as a main folder for this course assignments. From this point on, you will organize your project files and folders within
EDTF200 or
EDTF300 folder. To create a folder, open your
      USB drive by double-clicking
the left mouse button on the “My Computer” icon on the desktop.   From the
pop-up menu, double click again on the E: or F: or G: drive selection.  Next, point the
mouse cursor within the designated drive folder and click the right mouse button.  From
the pop-up menu, select New then Folder.  When the new folder icon appears, type
      the name
EDTF200 or
EDTF300 that will replace the New Folder label.

      Open the
EDTF200 or
EDTF300 folder that you have
created and, using the same procedure as above, create other new folders inside it.

      Before creating other folders,
      remember "
Grouping Scheme" from the
link provided above, you now have the top (main) folder (the top level of the scheme). Review course assignments in the syllabus and draw (individually or collaboratively) your "
Grouping Scheme" draft on a peice of paper. This will help you plan and organize your files and folders to store the course project files.
